Today, Hammoudeh Group is rated among the top private enterprises in Jordan. It employs a total workforce of more than 1500 employees and markets its products to consumers all over Jordan and neighboring countries. Feed Plant in 1963 and Today&Samir & Nabil Hammoudeh Feed Plant late 1970s Before long, Abdel Hadi Hammoudeh was moving toward vertical integration, where he could control the product from the egg to the consumer’s table. In 1968, he purchased a small hatchary and two broiler farms. Two years later, he made another leap with the building of a modern hatchary. The 1970s was a decade of growth for Abdel Hadi Hammoudeh’s business. Samir & Nabil Hammoudeh Feed Plant late 1970sThe feed mill was renovated and expanded and several breeder farms were built. Hammoudeh agro business then provided two essential services: the sale of day old chicks, and the sale of feed. Ventures into related lines of products such as table eggs and veterinary products were pursued. Hammoudeh steadily developed and diversified, picking up pace in the 1980s with rapid development of the poultry agribusiness in Jordan. It achieved annual growth rates of 15-20% during 1979-1988. In 1983, a livestock farm was built. The idea was to raise lambs and cows to produce red meat and milk. At the same time, a simple dairy plant was built in the farm to produce fresh traditional dairy products. During the 1990s, Hammoudeh ventured into several new production sectors in a drive to diversify its production base and allow for future growth. Two fully automated dairy plants were built in 1991 and 1996. A joint venture in 1997 with the world’s feed market leader, Provimi B.V., resulted in a computerized feed concentrate factory. Hammoudeh continued the growth by becoming the major shareholder of the largest poultry processing and marketing company in 1998. In 1999, Hammoudeh has invested in new storage silos and warehouses for critical cereals. Today, its storage capacity stands at 90,000 metric tons of grains and soybean meals.
