A PROFILE

UDI is an affiliate of Al-Mouwasat Medical Company, a pioneering Saudi Company that has been providing comprehensive health care services in the Saudi Kingdom over the past 25 years.

UDI was established in 1994 with the aim of meeting the local market needs of quality diagnostic products for laboratories of hospitals and clinics within the        Kingdom customers at affordable prices. The good quality of UDI products and increased customer trust lead UDI to extend its product range from chemistry reagents at the beginning to other areas of Hematology, immunology, serology and instrumentation.

UDI plant is built over an area of 3,000 sq. meters with additional 4,000 sq. meters reserved for future expansion activities. The plant is housed in a modern building complex with separate sections for Production, Quality Control activities and Research and Development departments.  The plant environment is constantly controlled through a series of air handling units ensuring the flow of clean and uncontaminated air.

The plant is equipped with two Reverse Osmosis systems equipped with multiple series of UV-lights and absolute grade filters, which deliver water of the highest quality that is used in the manufacture of all UDI products.

All UDI departments are inter-linked through an advanced network system, which enables each department to interact with each other speedily and efficiently.

The production lines are equipped with the latest automated systems.  The majority of the production processes are fully computerized.  Thus ensuring efficient and reproducible manufacturing runs.

QC and R&D departments are equipped with a variety of instruments for applications study. Chemistry auto analyzers of all the models of Hitachi and, Ciba Express and the in-house chemistry analyzers. 

The hematology counters of all of the coulter series, Abbott series and Sysmex series with our own automated cell counter helps manufacturing the custom specific reagents.  The SOP software developed guides to each and every protocol to be followed and the results of all the analyses are automatically computed and posted on the network.

The Biomedical department with qualified and experienced engineer ensures that all analytical instruments are in fully working orders at all times.

The staffs employed at UDI are highly qualified and experienced in their own disciplines.  A thorough training programmed at regular intervals keeps them updated with the latest technology in the diagnostic products and procedures.

The professionalism and the services offered by the marketing department have resulted in increased sales volume by leaps and bounds. UDI is catering not only to the needs of the medical laboratories in the domestic market but also to the entire neighboring Arab world.  In addition, our products have reached as far as Malaysia in the Far East.  Currently UDI has distributors network in more than 20 countries.

Recently UDI had been certified as 9001:2000 qualities and accepted by CAP system for external quality control, UDI as well is applying to get the CE mark soon in order to be able for exporting to the European Markets easily.
